What are we actually measuring by Doppler tissue imaging?

چکیده
In current Doppler blood flow studies, the low Doppler shift frequencies of high energy generated by the wall motion are purposely filtered out. Since these low Doppler shift frequencies are produced by the contracting myocardium, they are expected to contain potential information for the assessment of myocardial properties. Early descriptions of directional pulsed Doppler tissue imaging (DTI) had already suggested the potential of this original technique for evaluating both systolic and diastolic myocardial function (1–6). Through the more recent technical development of color Doppler imaging, a technique based also on the pulsed Doppler principle, the concept of evaluating myocardial function based on directional pulsed Doppler velocities recording has become popular (7–9).

The Effect of Bronchial Asthma on Interatrial Electromechanical Delay Coupling Obtained Using Tissue Doppler Imaging
Background: Asthma is a predisposing factor for the development of atrial fibrillation. Asthma disturbs the electrophysiology in the right and left atrium. The aim of this study was to evaluate atrial electromechanical delay by coupling obtained from tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) in children. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 50 patients with Bronchial Asthma, compared with 50 hea...
متن کاملTissue Doppler Imaging Findings and Lipid Profile Changes in Diabetes Mellitus Type I Children
Background Diabetes mellitus type I (DMTI) is one of the most common endocrine and metabolic conditions in childhood. We aimed to assess the tissue Doppler imagining changes in children with DMTI compared to healthy children. Materials and Methods This case-control study was performed on 96 DMTI and 96 healthy children. The d...
متن کاملTissue Doppler Imaging versus Conventional Echocardiography in Evaluation of Cardiac Functions in Diabetes Mellitus
Background: Conventional echocardiography and tissue Doppler imaging have been highlighted to diagnose diastolic and systolic heart dysfunction. We aimed to compare tissue Doppler imaging with conventional echocardiography to diagnose heart dysfunctions in diabetes mellitus type 1 (DMT1) patients. <s...
متن کاملEchocardiographic Assessment of Left Ventricle Torsion by Tissue Doppler and Velocity Vector Imaging
Introduction Left ventricular (LV) twist is believed to store potential energy and plays an important role in generating diastolic suction. Recent advances in echocardiography techniques have allowed quantification of LV twist. The aim of the present study was to compare LV twist and torsion in healthy human subjects determined by velocity vector imaging (VVI) and tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) a...
متن کاملHealing the Bone
Healing of the bone is different with the other part of the body. Fracture healing is actually a bone regeneration with no scar tissues, where as in wound healing, injured tissue is replaced by connective tissue which became a scar, Traditionally fracture healing is divided in to 4 stages: 1) Stage of inflammation; 2) Stage of soft callus; 3) Stage of hard callus and 4) Stage of remodeling. In...
